Africa Safari & Beach

Kenya safari, then the Indian Ocean coast

AfricaSafariBeachFamilies
Overview

Ten to twelve days — four to five nights in a private Kenyan conservancy followed by four nights on the Kenya coast or in Zanzibar. The safari provides extraordinary wildlife intensity; the beach allows complete decompression. The combination is logistically clean and experientially exceptional.

Why This Journey Works

The contrast between the bush and the ocean is one of the most satisfying combinations we arrange. Three days in a safari camp changes how you see the ocean. And the logistics work — Nairobi to Mombasa or Zanzibar is an easy connection.

Suggested Route

Nairobi → Mara North Conservancy (4–5 nights) → Nairobi → Mombasa or Zanzibar (3–4 nights) → departure

Pace

Active in the conservancy (early morning and late afternoon game drives). Completely relaxed on the coast.

Best For

Families with children over 8. Couples seeking variety. First-time safari travellers who also want beach time.

Hotels We May Recommend

Kenya safari: Angama Mara, Cottar's 1920s Camp or Mahali Mzuri. Coast: Alfajiri Villas or Mnarani Club (Kilifi). Zanzibar: Matemwe Lodge or The Residence Zanzibar.

Our Thoughts

This is one of our most frequently requested Africa itineraries. The private conservancies adjacent to the Masai Mara offer a fundamentally different experience to the main reserve — fewer vehicles, more flexibility and better guiding. We always recommend at least one night game drive if the conservancy permits it.
