Safari
Private conservancies, great migration timing and the camps that matter.
A great safari is less about luck and more about logistics — being in the right place at the right time of year, staying in a camp with exclusive access to the landscape, and having a guide with both expertise and patience. We spend considerable time selecting the right combination for each client.
Examples We Often Arrange
July to October — the river crossings at the Mara River are one of the great natural spectacles. Private conservancies adjacent to the Mara offer uncrowded access.
June to October — the delta's flood season creates extraordinary concentrations of wildlife on the islands. Wilderness Mombo and Chitabe are exceptional.
Year-round, with June to September the least rainy. Rwanda's gorilla trekking is genuinely moving — and the lodges are among the best in Africa.
The Sabi Sand and Timbavati private reserves offer Big Five access within a day's drive of Johannesburg — well-suited to families.
Safari is a category where the difference between a good experience and an exceptional one is significant — and the difference is almost always in the camp selection, timing and guide quality. We do not recommend budget camps in premium destination areas. The investment difference is rarely as large as clients expect, and the experience difference is always significant.
